New Post Format
Friday, June 17, 2011 at 7:26AM | Jen - YKYLF Editor-in-Chief We're testing a new full recap format over at Pretty Little Liars. Based on reader and staffer feedback, we were consistently getting the message that our posts were too long. In addition to being too long to read, recapping each and every outfit can be tedious for our writers. As one of our editors said "You can only snark on Finn's hoodies so many times." Now, all the snore-worthy outfits are lumped together in the Grid of Snore, leaving our writers free to focus on the Standouts (and a "Standout" is either really good or really bad. It's the writer's call).
What do you think? Share your thoughts - they're important to us! (No, really...they are.)

old way was so much better. there's no detail in this! i think guys- lump them together. there isn't much you can say about a hoodie. but you only have like 5 photos in the entire thing. leave grouping to the supporting characters.
I agree with Sarah. The liars should get a longer recap with more details.. :)
I agree that the longer way was better...it had more snark and insight into the actual fashion as this is a fashion website
I definitely liked the old format better. There was more room for fun comments on everything, and I could save the pictures of an outfit I liked, without having everybody else's. Hope you'll bring the old back, detail is a good thing in this case!

I don't get enough of your wity fashion comments with the new format so I like more the old one too. Maybe it could be a mix of both, you know, guys with hoodies, plain t-shirts or plaid get an overall group comments (with group picture include) and our little pretty liars can get longer fashion recaps like before (they're worth it, well, at least their fashion).
Anyway, old or new format still enjoying your recaps!
Personally, I agree with the people who have previously posted comments about your formatting, I definitely liked the old formatting better. It gave the readers a chance to see your witty comments, details, and also as Sharnelle commented, your insight since this IS a fashion website.
The new formatting is not terrible, it may be because I am not used to it just yet and as Miss. Jen said, it is still a work in progress, but I did enjoy the old format much better, no matter how long it was.
I really miss the old format, I look forward to reading your recaps for PLL and Vampire Diaries. People that complain that it is too long aren't getting what this site is really about. I love your snark and all the witty remarks that you make. If anything I wish there was even more to read, because it cracks me up. I can understand making it more condensed to help the writers,but from a fans point of view I love the longer format. Either way I appreciate all the hard work that everyone does here, it makes my day.
I agree with other commenters, the long post format was so much better! I liked the breakdown of each outfit, especially because when watching the show it's hard to catch everything. The screencaps and comments on the blogs here were so awesome to read the next day!
PS So glad you guys are doing a True Blood blog, a Bachelorette one would be great too...!
Please keep the old layout if it is in any way possible! It was a lot wittier and made me laugh out very often! The new one is much more imore imprecise and simply boring. I adored the long recaps and always wished they were even longer! The new version on the other hand does not even motivate mit to visit your website. On the rare occasion when I couldn't possibly find any time to read them completely, I simply browsed and looked for the outfits that I was interested in the most and I still loved seeing all the great screencaps (and not just lots of little pictures).
Please think about the change again - I loved the old ones and especially fashion-forward shows like Gossip Girl deserve precise recaps! Thank you for the great work so far =)
