Ezra's baby mama shows up and is cool with Aria lying about her identity; Emily goes off to the woods with Nate--who turns out NOT to really be Nate (like we didn't see that one coming); Toby and Spencer finally get it on; Hanna and Caleb are just so in love, but is their love cut short when Caleb gets shot?? That's right, he receives a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Then Garrett goes free due to Nate's untimely (or maybe timely) demise?

Toby. Toby. Toby. At first we are just beyond words excited about his return and him and Spencer finally doing it--but then we see his face beneath that hoodie at the end with Mona...and I'm not sure what to think anymore.

I have to admit it was mighty hard trying to pay attention to the clothes this episode but I was pretty infatuated with yet another of Spencer's animal print frocks. The belt with bow-back added the perfect touch of whimsy.

While Toby and the rest of the Pretty Little Boyfriends are on my Dream A-Team, I was still shocked as hell it was Toby under the hoodie. Caleb was acting strangely too, and now he has Maya's bag, so he is most definately on the A-team too! He won't give it up that easily, or if he does he already took out what A needs.
As for fashion, I'm loving Spencer's seafoam green animal print dress with the back-bow belt and kick ass boots.
GAAAH! TOBY! WTF is right. Was not expecting that at all. Although, I knew something was up when he made a face as he hugged Spencer. I just didn't think it was an A thing.
As for Nate, I don't want to be smug, but...called it!
Also, there were five hoodies on A's rack. With Mona and Toby confirmed A-Team members, I think this means we have at least three other shockers before the big A reveal. (I refuse to believe Caleb is on the team. They can't do that to Hanna again).
That over-the-shoulder shifty-eyed hug between Toby and Spencer was very Revenge(!!!)-esque. So I obviously knew something was going down.
Also, whenever one of the PLLs has a moment of happiness, it's generally immediately followed by terrible misery*, so that also concerned me.
(*except for Aria, whose plotlines are so separate from the whole A thing she may as well be on a different show)
Also: $10 says Toby's secretly infiltrating the A Team, not a real member. I hope that's not the case, though.
I definitely think that Toby is a double agent...when he hugged Spencer, his look was much more sad/conflicted & not really evil, so he is only on the A team to find some out answers that Spencer couldn't give him. What I am most confused about, though, is how Caleb got shot! Nate was dying on the floor so it couldn't be him. Also, I agree with the comment above, Aria is basically on Secret Life of the American Teenager or some other drama like that that I would rather not watch. Maybe in the Halloween episode, someone will try to kill her or something interesting like that.
Wow that was an intense episode...even though as Emily was getting ready to leave with Nate I was like "Really??A guy you've known for what 2 months tops,has made a pass at you,has shown weird tendencies and didn't take rejection lightly is offering a weekend getaway to the woods and with everything going down you go:ok!" *enter exaggerated eye roll here*...I did love her weekend bag though so I'll cut her some slack!!!
I did not see Toby coming!That was quite a shock!And I agree on Caleb acting weirdly,he just takes the bag heads off without telling Hannah over their phone intercom thingy and conveniently chooses the right motel where Emily is at...yeah,shifty!Of course there is the small matter of actually getting shot in the abdomen,but you know,I'm pretty sure we'll get an explanation on how that happened soon enough,maybe Nate had some power left in him?Who knows!Also could Mona be any creepier?
And what was Aria wearing in the begin of the episode??Weird black and shocking pink ruffled top?Check.Blue shiny metal-ly skirt?Check.Black over the knee socks one of which is destroyed beyond any form of repair?Check.Bulky,hooker pumps with shiny,metal studded heels?Check.I agree though,it's no wonder the wardrobe department are giving her the most inappropriate,wtf outfits of the bunch,cause that's pretty much the only reason why anyone would mention Aria at all while discussing PLL,her story lines are the biggest snooze fest ever!
@ Melissa - I pretty sure Nate shot Caleb. Haven't watched the Scream movies? Nobody is really dead the first time round. They always come back at least once to try and kill you, so you can kill them again. Emily and Caleb thought Nate was dead, from a stab wound no less, and Caleb put the gun down. Nate comes back, grabs the gun and tries to shoot Emily but Caleb throws her out of the way. Then Nate dies again.
