It-Girl Happened One Night - Part 1 of 3 - The Daywear

Episode synopsis: The buying and selling and not-buying and not-selling of Bass Industries continues (at this point, I can't keep up with it). A new revelation about Lily comes to light--and can we say we're surprised she once dated Russell Thorpe? No, we can't. Blair realizes that Chuck really does have feelings for Raina, leaving her to fall into the open arms--or shall I say cell phone--of good ol' Dan Humphrey. Serena and Ben are already (already? really?) "in a relationship", but they decide to skip V-day. And because Rufus has officially become a trophy husband, his storyline is nowhere in sight.

I’m completely head over heels for this outfit. It is absolutely befitting of the one who should replace Epperly.  The gold jacket is MAH-jor (if I can quote Rachel Zoe). The pants, blouse, and necklace complement perfectly. Her orange bag (probably Hermes) is such a great contrast to the gold.

This is a better shot of the blouse Blair has on. It has a little bit of a print that softens the structured jacket. I just cannot fully express my love for all of it!

In spite of supposedly having to be so busy all the time, Blair had time for a quick change during the middle of the day. I would have really liked to seen what was underneath her wool poncho-esque coat, but we never got that chance. So I'm going to have to this a 'meh' rating.

Classic Serena "morning after" outfit. However, I don't think this was the "morning after" anything...

During my live-tweet, I asked if this coat was "fabulous or a blanket?" After seeing the rest of the episode and looking at this again, I'm gonna go with fabulous. It looks so warm and cozy! What threw me off upon first viewing is the drapey-shawl sweater she's wearing underneath, making her coat look longer and drape-ier than it should.

I want to like this; but I can't. There's WAY too much fabric going on. The cowl neck on her sweater is huge--I think three small children could fit in there. And the sweater vest is decked out in sequins, which I love, but is it necessary for it to almost touch the ground?

Serena also had a quickie middle-of-the-day change. This seems really inappropriate for afternoon-wear, but what else would we expect from Serena? At least she's covered up for once.

Oh Raina. She's turning into Serena: mistaking evening wear for daywear. I actually don't mind this dress. I like the detailing at the chest, but I think it's just too tight and too much cleavage for working hours. Unless she's working...the corner.

It never fails. Lily looks classic and put together. The bib necklace adds the right amount of embellishment to the solid dress.

It’s nice to see that Ben dresses how a man just out of prison should dress. In plaid. Clearly he has raided Rufus’ leftovers.

Dan's chest hair should be named Miley Cyrus because like her, it can't be tamed

There is nothing really interesting about his coat and scarf (except that it's hiding his chest hair), but for some reason I think it's so cute that he's wearing leather gloves.

Another henley. Did the wardrobe department get some sort of deal on these?

I love Eric's coat. The toggles and hood make it look so much more youthful than most wool coats.

I love Nate's coat too! Albeit, it's plaid, but it's great to see it used in another way than a flannel shirt.

Exhibit A: Rufus officially has a new uniform. A sweater over a button/zip-down. I wonder what he is going to wear when the season changes?

Exhibit B: sweater over a zip-down. How could Lily leave this hunk of man? Your husband is bringing you roses and champagne! Forget yelling at Chuck!

Technically this wasn't "the day" anymore, but Damien just looks SO unbelievably creepy I had to put him somewhere. Ironically, he looks more like a drug dealer now that he is exposed than when he actually was.

It-Girl Happened One Night - Part 2 of 3 - The Suits

There was quite the variety of suits in this week's episode--the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Chuck is put-together with a dash of purple as always. Paisley on stripes? Great combo!

Not my favorite of Chuck's ensembles, but if you look closely his suit has wide, vertical stripes running through it. Very cool.

Chuck in a tux=hot. The jacket is actually subtly sparkly. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any screenshot where you could tell, but I would recommend re-watching this part of the episode if you can, because it's just THAT cool.

The Captain looks like he's about to sneeze, which is funny; and it's the best part of what he's wearing.

The Captain's party look. Very similar to his work look. Blah. And a very similar look on his face--did his face freeze like that in prison?

Dan either A) has a creepy, "trying-to-be-seductive" look on his face or B) is about to pass out. However, neither applies, he was just pondering what Chuck and Raina were doing in the "Venice Room". Clothing-wise, this is the most boring suit ever.

Another hottie on the loose. I love when Nate wears black-on-black. He got rid of that uber-bed head look, but it isn't super slicked back either. YES.

Russell, like the Captain, doesn't wear very interesting suits either. This one in particular is ill-fitting as well, or at least appears that way. Props for borrowing Chuck's purple.

Is it just me or does the ice blue seem completely out-of-date?

Finally something a little better. Love the wide stripes and colors of his tie.

It-Girl Happened One Night - Part 3 of 3 - The Party Dresses

I thought Blair looked killer in this dress. The fit was dead on (pun intended).

The back was so unexpected...it's the perfect Valentine's Day dress without being to valentine-y. Too bad she didn't really have a valentine.

Lily's dress wasn't anything to write home about, but oh-so Lily.

Accessories wise, Lily missed the mark. While gorgeous, the earrings and necklace worn separately would be better.

Those colors just don't go together, right?

Thank God Serena introduced Raina to Ralph Lauren. Dress: gorgeous. Hair: still working on it, but much better.

But then disappointment set in when I saw how Raina accessorized her sparkly number. The earrings and the dress clash horrendously.

Close-up of her earrings. Very pretty, but just not for the dress.

This was a very un-Serena-like dress. I'm stunned that she is so covered and elegant-looking, I don't know what else to say!

And in keeping with the elegant theme, Serena looks so sophisticated meeting Ben. I adore her oversized scarf, which is finally going with the Valentine's theme (for ten minutes).

Mini Recap: It Girl Happened One Night

Not a bad episode. Certainly tolerable, and the B&D cuteness at the end was almost heartfelt.

Party du Jour
Chuck's Bacchanalian bash

Best Line
No standouts, although Blair and Dan had the best banter...
Dan: I can't tell you how many gloves I've lost in the subway
Blair: You do seem cursed.
Dan: I do, don't I?

Best Outfit
Serena at left, closely followed by...wait for it...Rania in her silver party du jour attire!

Headshaker
S said the "shoe of the moment" is the Louboutin Bianca. We all know she wanted to say "The Blake".

Kate's been busy with Pretty Little Liars editor duties, but we're happy to welcome her back to GG this Thursday!
