The Wild Brunch, 1 of 3 - Serena

Episode Synopsis: Blair lounges in lingerie, Serena is shamed, Chuck gets punched (again), and then gets laid (again), Dan is angsty. Also, there are mimosas and painted models.

Serena's first look is a tissue weight deep-V sweater over a simple tank, with a touch of gold jewelry. She likes gold, and it's a great color on her. This is a nice, breezy summertime look:

Well, that was fine for visiting your brother in a mental institution, but what does one wear when postulating before Queen B? Serena changes but keeps with the boho-chic theme. I like the cardigan and red bag:

Personally, I don't have the legs to pull of dark, flat boots with short-shorts, but Serena does. Rock on, girlfriend:

Her brunch ensemble is again, boho chic. Actually, that's sort of an overriding style of hers, so I'm going to have to find some new adjectives. Here, she wears a dress that's one part granny, one part glam. Love the crystals on the flowers!:

Pair the dress with some metallic heels, and you've got yourself a running outfit. Now go avert that social disaster!

The Wild Brunch, 2 of 3 - Blair

You know, I like the idea of pretty sleepwear, but I've found that it's just not practical. It gets all bunchy, you know? These choices are not as impractical as some others (that honor goes to the nightgown Natalie Portman wore in Star Wars) but still, I'm guessing Blair didn't just wake up.

Pretty detailing on the sleeve:

Long shot:

Blair lounging about, still in her alltogethers:

Aha, she finally got dressed! She does the demure thing again with a little bow that she ripped from an unopened gift package:

...and pairs it with lacy black tights. I actually like this dress, especially the bell sleeves. I don't find the neckline terribly flattering, though:

The Wild Brunch, 3 of 3 - All the Rest

Hee - K & I sport complimentary turbans and hippie shirts!

But then they don complimentary floppy crocheted hats, flowered dresses, and lacy gloves. Is there no end to their fabulous matching outfits? Do you think that when one goes shopping by herself, she buys two of everything? If one doesn't like what the other has purchased, does she still have to wear the offending item? The mind boggles.

Jenny is super-cute and age appropriate in this pink cardigan, which covers a purple mini dress. Normally I don't like bright plastic jewelry, but it works here.

Dan does his "casual cool" thing in a jacket with a Nehru collar, over a t-shirt and jeans...perfect for an UES brunch! (Or not.)

Rufus is cuuuuute in this episode. Love the leather necklace and the purple lining of his jacket. He's the poster child for Former Rocker/Dad:

Lily goes for a pure Upper East Side look with a cream and black ensemble. Love the metallic jacket and the classic bag...is it a Kelly?

Oh, and big sunglasses - mustn't forget those!

She sticks with cream and black for brunch:

Looking sad but still pretty in a ladylike blouse with crystal collar:

Chuck is a hot mess in this ensemble. From the neck up, he's a 12 year old boy. From the neck down, he's an elderly gay man attending the Kentucky Derby.

He should take lessons from Nate, who nails the look. Love the contrasting shirt with yellow tie!
