Pilot, 1 of 3 - Serena

Episode Synopsis: Serena comes home, Nate is confused, Blair is mad, Dan is gooey-eyed.

Serena at Grand Central. Pretty sure I'm in the minority when I say that I don't love this outfit.  I think it's the jacket-scarf-shirt combo that bugs me. Individually, they're nice pieces, but I don't like the combined look:

I especially don't like the way the scarf is tied. It looks too deliberate:

Now this is so much better:

If you've gotta wear a school uniform (and believe me, I feel your pain), this is the way to do it. Awesome metallic trench, men's watch, tousled tie and red socks peeking out over knee high boots, layered on top of black tights.

I dig the bag, too:

Love this fresh and pretty look. She wore it in autumn, but it's perfect for spring!

Great coat, but an unflattering cut on the shirt. Empire waists are all the rage, though.

Serena and Dan out on their first date. Serena sports a gold sequin dress like only a blonde can, but she dresses it down for her rock n' roll date with a boxy jacket and scarf. The purple bag adds a punch of color.

Love Dan's loooooong scarf:

Pilot, 2 of 3 - Blair

At her mother's party, Blair pulls off a "sexy yet prim" look with a black lace, patterned black tights, and a demure bow in her hair:

Sky-high heels complete the look:

On the Met steps, Blair holds court over her tweed and knee-sock wearing minions. Jenny pops by with a handbag which upon first glance reminded me of a red Hermes Kelly bag:

Blair and her pack, in uniform. Love the colored shoes with white knee-highs!

Over drinks with Serena, she sports an anchor pendant worn outside of a turtleneck. I'm generally not a fan of that look, and it leaves me cold here. You can't see it in the picture, but she's got a bright red headband in her hair, which adds a nice shot of color in an otherwise somber outfit:

Ok, I looked online for a better pic of Blair at the "Kiss on the Lips" party and couldn't find any. Let me know if you find one. At any rate, she's got some great hair here. It's teased just high enough to give her a queen bee (or would that be "Queen B"?) look:

Overall, eh - not a standout episode for Blair. Thankfully there are better moments to come later in the season!

Pilot, 3 of 3 - all the rest

Here's Melanie91, one of Gossip Girl's informants, with a fun patchwork bag:

LOVE Lily Van der Woodsen's outfit. It's perfect for a former rock girl gone Uptown:

Skinny jeans, plat heels, and a metallic coat over a little cami topped with a scarf. Love it!

K&I almost don't even need individual names. Katy and Isabel are a package deal, and are rarely far behind Blair. They give of a vaguely Harajuku vibe, which isn't for me, but a lot of people like it:

On the steps. LOVE Isabel's black and white jacket with punchy yellow bag:

In my opinion, K&I were the best dressed at Blair's "Kiss on the Lips" shindig. These dresses are champagne gold, and both have beautiful little petals on the skirt:

Before there was Queen B, there was Queen E. Eleanor still rules the roost at the Waldorf house. Here, she channels the wicked witch in Snow White with a dramatic collar:

Awesome necklace! Pearls to the extreme!

Behold Bad Boy Chuck and his cool patchwork scarf:

Here he is in predatory mode, double collaring it, with one of them popped. Also, he's rocking the 80s pastels. Not a look that would make me swoon, but I'm traditional like that. Go Chuck, go!:
