New York - Part 2 of 3 - Friends

Outside of the main love stories, the New Directions kids were looking hot in New York City.

I love how colorful everyone is. Mercedes is rocking the purple, Brittany looks delightful in her green jacket and blue hat, and Santana looks smokin’ hot in her green dress and yellow cropped jacket. And Artie...well, we just won’t talk about Artie. Instead, let's look at Santana again.

Smokin’. Hot.

I wish New York had inspired Lauren to do something a little different, but she’s still dressing in far too many layers.

Lauren looks much better in dresses, she should wear them more often. But hey, look! New York, the city known for housing people who love to wear black, even inspired Tina to throw on a color.

Sure, it’s a little shapeless. But it’s green!

The only questionable one here is Quinn. While the ankle boots she insists on wearing are less horrific than usual, the jacket appears to be made of plastic orange trash bags.

Oh man, it still smells like garbage, doesn’t it? Poor Quinn. At least the dress itself was super pretty.

Later, Santana and Brittany helped Quinn overcome an emotional meltdown by suggesting a haircut. Major missed opportunity there - had they suggested some therapeutic shoe shopping, they might have been able to convince her to buy something other than ankle boots.

Love all the outfits there. Especially Brittany’s possum scarf.

But let’s get real - the whole Get a Haircut So You Can Get Over Finn! thing was just an excuse to introduce us to Dianna Agron’s awesome new bob. I didn’t think it was possible, but she looks even prettier.

So. Damn. Pretty. (That’s a shot of Dianna Agron from her blog, as proof of how great the haircut is.)

Brittany had some great style moments in New York as well. I loved this outfit.

I hate that high-waisted pants are a trend, because almost no one looks good in them. But if I had a butt like Brittany’s, I’d probably be rocking them too. I love the suspenders and the scarf.

Brittany’s songwriting outfit wasn’t as desirable, but still one of those completely unique Brittany S. Pierce looks. It takes a special girl to pull off short-shorts, boots and two pairs of socks.

Unfortunately, no one else in the glee club seemed to up their style for the big Nationals trip. Here are Tina, Mercedes and Mike, all looking very...ordinary.

Mike looks kind of cute in his vest and t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, but Tina? Why does she insist on dressing like Wednesday Addams? Where do you even find something that ugly?

The rest of the boys also delivered more of the same. An ugly sweater vest for Artie, a ratty-looking hoodie for Finn.

With Kurt obviously taking first place by a landslide, Mike is the second best dressed dude in glee club.

I mean, he has on a tie. Look at what Puck wore.

A T-shirt and jeans! Oh no, I might die from shock. I’m so used to seeing him in a tux.

Samesies for Sam, but we’ve already deemed that he gets a pass since all his clothes came from Finn.

I wish the boys had dressed up in matching suits when they went to serenade Rachel and Finn, but instead they wore their normal clothes.

After facing a crushing defeat at Nationals, the gang returned to Ohio. As you can see by the voodoo doll she’s holding, Santana was angriest of all.

Of course, Brittany managed to talk some sense into her. Who can’t be charmed by a girl wearing that bizarre combination of prints? Of course, I was even happier to discover that Brittany was actually wearing a jumpsuit of sorts.

Everyone looks good here, except for Quinn’s feet.

Funeral - Part 1 of 3 - The Oompa Loompas

Episode Synopsis:  It’s a somber time at McKinley High School when the New Directions learn that Sue’s sister, Jean, has passed away.  And this time, not even a brightly colored array of tracksuits could hide Sue’s heartache.  Knowing what it’s like to lose someone so near and dear, Kurt and Finn help Sue sort through Jean’s belongings and, in honor of Jean’s favorite movie, organize a Willy Wonka-themed funeral.  Oh, and in a show of impeccable timing, Finn dumps Quinn in the funeral home parking lot and decides he wants Rachel back.  Too bad Jesse got there first.  In the meantime, McKinley Idol comes to town when Jesse St. James persuades Mr. Schue to hold auditions for their National’s set list’s lead vocalist.  Surprising no one, Jesse favors Rachel and doles out criticisms a la Simon Cowell to Santana, Kurt and Mercedes after their auditions.  After much hullaballoo, Mr. Schue pulls a Paula and soothes everyone’s ruffled feathers before announcing that they would—surprise—do things they way they’ve always done them: together.  And that’s what you missed on Glee!

Though they hail from Lima and not Loompaland, the New Directions, despite a brief interlude with Jesse’s undermining tendencies, know how to band together and work towards a goal.  Luckily, their goal doesn’t entail a human blueberry. As usual, Puck, Finn and Sam continue their homage to the male adolescent’s absurd fondness for t-shirts and baggy hoodies and while entirely unexciting, it’s preferable to whatever it is Artie has going on.  The fit, the colors, the short-sleeved button-up, the patterned sweater vest—wrong, all wrong.  Mike and Kurt, on the other hand, look quite dapper in their ties and sweaters.  I like that Mike’s color palette matches Tina’s but that he adds a little burst of color with the red tie and I am in love with Kurt’s matching vest and bowtie and that pop of orange.

The ladies are all over the map.  Tina apparently came from a dentist appointment by the looks of that white monstrosity atop her dress.  Santana…well, of course she would wear a strapless mini-dress to school.  Because why not, right?  Lauren and Mercedes are pretty unremarkable here.  Rachel’s striped dress is so cute and springy but those white knee-high socks border on blasphemous and it would seem, judging from the explosion of denim, that Brittany and Quinn came from a ho-down or a barn raising of some sort.

Kurt and Finn, knowing the kind of grief Sue is going through, stop by her office to drop off flowers.  Kurt seems way casual considering that he can usually be counted on to sport some kind of neck cloth but I like that they’re both matching with the stripes.

Despite Nationals looming in the near future, the New Directions decide to help organize Jean’s funeral.  The guys are, once again, pretty boring with the exception of the disaster on Artie.  Can someone please remind him that he’s only 17?

Quinn looks great here and I love her simple white dress with the black edging and belt detail.  And I can’t get over Brittany’s animal-inspired look—it’s a riot!  I love that she’s rocking snakeskin leggings and a top with a giant tiger’s face and I only wish her hair was as crazy as the rest of her outfit.  Lauren must have borrowed that flannel top from Puck’s closet, Tina is obviously not out to impress anyone, and as much as I actually like the white and spring green combo on Rachel, I can’t get over those knee highs.

Santana’s outfit reminds of something that Judy Jetson would wear if she ever decided to stray from the color pink.  I actually really like the jacket with the skirt flounce and the cinched waist but am not crazy about the red zipper accents along the sleeves and down the middle.

I’m usually Kurt’s #1 fashion fan, but I just couldn’t make heads or tails of what was going on here.  Or rather, skulls and tails.  Everything is pretty spot on from the waist up with the industrial looking vest and silver patterned tie (and bless him, I do love his bouffant-esque hair!), but then I saw the pants.  I mean…what…I don’t…I can’t…why…  what happened?  Oh, and it definitely gets better.  That vest that I was totally on board with?  The back fell off.  Pull it together, Kurt!

I really liked this toned down look on Mercedes and it was a nice switch from the orange sherbert hoodie and leopard print top.  But she does a great job of jazzing it up with the big hoop earrings and sparkly “5” necklace—random, but still great. Oh, and equally sparkly boots.

You really can’t go wrong with a little black dress and Rachel’s is so feminine and classic.  I love deeply scooped necklines and the striped detailing at the bottom of the full skirt remind me of the wedding dress in Runaway Bride (the one that reminds Julia of a bell—that was a gorgeous dress, too).  Paired with black patent kitten heels, it was the perfect pairing of a classic dress with a classic song.

I know there are people out there who would strongly disagree with me, but I love Kurt’s big hair!  I don’t know what it is about it, but it’s awesome.  I love the exaggerated collar of his sweater and that he’s wearing another collar underneath.  He looks so put-together that I just want to shake his step-brother and show him that there’s so much more beyond his world of zip-up hoodies.

Despite Jesse’s attempts to pit them against one another, the Glee Club comes together to support Sue at her sister’s funeral and sing “Pure Imagination” as a nod to Jean’s favorite movie.  They all cleaned up well for the occasion (Rachel’s black lace dress is my favorite—again, so simple and classic), but I was a bit surprised to see Brittany, Mercedes and Quinn wearing such bright colors and prints.  Tina even managed to divest herself of her strange gothic wear and don something much more palatable.

For the love of God, Rachel, what is it with you and white hosiery?

It just ruins all of your cute, feminine dresses.  Quinn, though, is the picture of spring in her floral orange top and perfectly coiffed hair, while Tina continues to dress like a pilgrim.   I’m not sure what’s really going on with Mercedes and Lauren, but I’m sure there’s a mix-and-match of prints involved.   Brittany’s going strong with the animal theme but I love the giant ladybug on her top—the black knee highs and brown boots though, they've got to go.  And I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the cut of Santana’s jacket that screams 80s.  Can’t say I’m a huge fan, but I do really like those boots.   The boys are, again, a big, fat yawn.  Well, except for Artie’s tribal sweater vest.

Prom Queen - 1 of 2 - Dancing Queens

So here's what you missed on Glee: Prom has finally descended upon McKinley High and the ensuing trench warfare of drama and bitterness is impressive. Mercedes doesn't have a date, and so Rachel ropes her and Sam into going with her as a group-on-a-budget. But oops! Jesse St. James is back and he weasels his way into the group too. Finn is under pressure, Quinn is treading water, Lauren wants the crown, Puck wants his reputation back, and Artie wants Brittany back. Nobody seems to be very happy with anybody else, except Kurt and Blaine are adorable as can be, and Dave apologizes to Kurt for his past misbehaviors. BUT STOP THE PRESSES! Just when you think it can't get any better/worse, Finn and Jesse get into a fight and subsequently kicked out of prom, and then the crowns go to.... DAVE AND KURT. In an uproar, everybody goes into hysterics, and then the glitter mics come out and ABBA is sung. Although nothing gets solved, everyone somehow manages to have a good prom? AND LOOKED GREAT?! Sheer madness, I tell you! And that's what you missed...on Glee!

Rachel starts us off with an absolutely DARLING dress -- the crisp white collar and the floppy bow are so sweet, and the blue looks fantastic on her. I like this girly style on her, but anytime her knee socks take over the outfit it's an instant turn off.

Later, Rachel throws on another small floral print dress, but pairs it with a black cardi and tights... more towards her usual schoolgirl style, but still pretty on her. Maybe if she had been wearing something cuter I wouldn't have hated her duet with Jesse on Adele's "Rolling in the Deep"?

....

No, absolutely not. Nothing could have made that duet any better. It was sheer blasphemy. (Sidenote: I had been hoping that Santana would sing "Rolling in the Deep" as an angst ballad to Brittany.... but that's just me.)

This is also more up Rachel's alley -- navy and polka dots are classic. This works for the scene where she is trying to be Finn's supportive friend while simultaneously trying to get his attention. Oh, Rachel, when will you learn?

Rachel's alleged-Goodwill-purchased prom dress is surprisingly flattering. It has a ballet feel to it, both in color and material, and her elegantly complex take on a ponytail is really lovely (though I had a hard time getting a screenshot of it).

Speaking of Prom-On-A-Budget. Miss Mercedes Jones looks FIERCE in a wild purple ensemble that matches her bold personality. You go, Mercedes. Own it, girl.

THERE we go, there's Rachel's ponytail. Sweet, isn't it? And Sam... dear Sam, rocking the bolo tie Springsteen style.

Dry run of the prom dresses for Kurt's approval! Is anyone surprised that Tina is wearing black ruffles? No? 'Kay. Brittany is the most eclectic person when it comes to wardrobe, but we love her for it. Striped socks? Chartreuse and red with a gold glitter belt? I want her to sing Britney Spears' "Circus" in this outfit. Kurt's scarf is win.

Brittany rocks a butterfly-ish looking top early in the episode, but I'm not sure how I feel about the zippered white skirt with it. Lauren, queen of clashing patterns, looks a little bit more put together here with demure shades of green and her hair is curled for a change, which is really pretty on her.

Santana, ferosh as ever, wears a sessy dress with an obscured animal pattern of some kind.

Lauren's prom dress isn't quite navy as Kurt suggests, but more of a bolder, brighter hue; still, it's elegant and a flattering color on her, and her hair is classic.

As Jesse says, "The ghost of Grace Kelly." Perfect color, perfect cut, perfect hair, perfect everything.... too bad Quinn loses the crown. Still, she's gorgeous and doesn't disappoint in the amount of beauty she exhibits for the biggest night of teenage life.

Santana's gown is floor length, shapely, simple, and a stunning red that only she can pull off. The floral ruffle detail is gorgeous and elegant, and her hair looks fabulous. Boom. Well done, Santana.

Sue wears two different tracksuits this episode, and I'm surprised that the one she wears to chaperone prom in is the more boring of the two. This hot pink is actually really fun, and -- gasp! -- her lip color almost matches, and her eyeshadow is really flattering! What a treat, Sue!

Rumours - Part 1 of 2 - Nancy Drews

Episode Synopsis:

So here's what you missed on Glee:  Sue gets the rumor mill rolling when she decides to revive the school newspaper, turning the Glee kids into a bunch of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys wannabes.  Convinced there is something going on between Quinn and Sam (or Sam and Kurt), Rachel and Finn go on multiple stakeouts, only to later find out Sam's family had fallen on hard times (in a very dramatic scene, after which everyone felt like jerks).  Rachel is determined to sing a duet with Finn at Nationals, but Quinn firmly puts her foot down and squashes that dream.  Artie and Brittany break up and Brittany wants to ask Santana to prom on her new internet show, Fondue for Two, but unfortunately, Santana stands her up.  And April Rhodes comes back (!) to try and woo Will to join her on Broadway.  Will he be able to leave the kids to fulfill his lifelong dream?  And that's what you missed on Glee!

This episode was jam packed full of outfits - some good, some bad - seriously, it seemed like every two seconds they were all changing outfits!  It made me wonder if 1.  The kids actually go to class.  2.  Do they have their own personal closets at school?  And 3.  Where in the world do they find those hideous sweaters Artie wears?

I was super excited to see April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth) return, she's so full of energy and interesting outfits.  Take this one for example.  I love this short strapless dress with a cherry on top!  It fits her perfectly, and the neck scarf adds such charm.  And her red handbag is a perfect accessory.

This outfit kind of reminds me of something a southern housewife would wear.  Not that I've ever seen one in real life, but I'm kind of picturing Ashley Judd from Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.  It's super cute, and I like how she's making good use of her handkerchief from earlier.  It's totes the perfect ensemble for seducing Will.

April has the ability to wear outfits, that on other women would look a little... how do I put this nicely?  Less than classy.  But on her look pretty darn fab.  This white pinstripe suit with gold chain belt is a perfect example.  It fits her so well, even if it reminds me of an outfit that Milicent Torkelson (anyone remember The Torkelsons?!) would wear - except that hers would be denim.

This blue ball gown looks stunning on April.  I even love the oversized, starched bow - which looks very similar to the hat Princess Beatrice wore to the Royal Wedding.

And look at those shoes.  Us tiny gals got to keep it real in 5 inch heels, no matter how difficult it may be to walk in them.

Showing off more of her Southern charm in this form-fitting, flowered print sun dress.  April, no matter what type of fruit or flower you're wearing, you're always totally adorbs.

Is anyone else over Quinn's annoying attitude like I am?  I've really had quite enough of her.  But I haven't had enough of her wardrobe and she was my favorite dressed gal this week.   Just as long as I can't see her shoes.

This is a nicely put together outfit.  It's hard to tell but I like the cut of her skirt - tight on top with a slight ruffle flair on the bottom.

I think this was my favorite outfit Quinn wore, for all of .5 seconds, this week.  Thank goodness I can't see her shoes though because I know they would ruin it for me.  The blush color is so flattering on her, and I love the draped fit.  And I adore the ruffle collar.

This is literally the next scene and Quinn has managed to completely change her outfit and her hair.  Impressive, I must say.  I am a huge fan of this navy and white striped tie sweater.  I would like to go home and magically find it in my closet.  It's a perfect match to her form-fitting, white, half-zip dress.  She looks like she's ready for a day at sea.

I do actually like this dress, I like the pattern and the fact that it ends above her knees.  She looks super cute, especially with her side twist in her hair.  But just wait for it....

She pairs this dress with her rough and tough worker boots.  WHY?!  I just don't get it.  And this is not the first time.  She's in love with these boots and she seems to pair them with every single outfit she wears.  I just feel that for someone running for prom queen, she would try to dress a little more dainty.  She claims everyone will vote for her because they want to be like her.  Well Quinn Fabray, there is no one at McKinley High who would want to be like you if it means having to wear those on their feet.

Not that Brittany is doing any better in the leg and footwear department.  White sheer knee highs, with black knee high socks over top, and ugly black boots?  I'm sorry, but not even Brittany S Pierce can pull off that look.

I pretty much love anything with polka dots on them, and Quinn seems to wear them a lot.  I like this sheer cream colored dress a lot.  I think it may be my second fav outfit, and another piece of clothing I'd like to have appear in my closet.  Her hair looks especially wonderful as well.  But my favorite part about this ensemble?  Her bitch face.  Not even Santana can rival this face.

Speaking of Santana, she's seemed to have misplaced part of her shirt.  She should go find that material and sew it back on as quickly as possible.

On Fondue for Two,  Mercedes asks "Is this really what they were doing in the 70s?"   I ask, "Is this really what they were wearing in the 70s?"  I wouldn't know since I wasn't even close to being around, but I'll just say, I'm glad I wasn't.  I can't even tell if this is an extremely light wash denim one-piece pantsuit, or an extremely thin linen in a weird light blue color.  And the belt.  My poor eyes!  Britt?  MC-Hammer called, he wants his clothes back.  (OK, I know he's a decade away from the 70s, but just look at that outfit!)

OK this is better.  Britt looks like she stepped right off the Newsies (love that movie!) set with this paperboy denim hat and press badge.  I love her jacket and cream colored dress.  This was my favorite Brittany outfit.

Ahh Brittany's evil squirrel sweater.  So I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of it, to be honest I think it's a huge waste of material and would never wear it.  I actually can't even believe it's sold at Anthropologie.  But it's Brittany, and she's recently been going through a shirts-with-animals-on-them phase, so why not wear a cardigan with an evil squirrel?

Yeeeeeee-Haw!  Grab your partner, do-si-do, return that outfit to the store.  Please. I beg of you.  This is just such a don't, I can't even begin.  And to make it worse, I hate, hate, hate shirts with bell bottom sleeves, and especially when they're 3/4 length.

Santana is there to console Britt after Artie gives her the old heave-ho.  Thankfully she looks respectable in this coral blouse.  Sometimes I don't like this type of cut on small girls, but it doesn't swallow her.  And I love her thin headband.

Unfortunately, I can't respect Britt in this outfit.  I think tying your shirt up like that went out with the 90s.

I think Santana's shirt had a Brittany moment and got way confused.  It doesn't quite know if it wants to be a one shoulder shirt or not.  Or maybe the seamstress just ran out of material, which could very well be the case, especially when you see the back.  It's very unfortunate because she needs the other sleeve.  Otherwise, it just looks really awkward.  Santana, I know you can do better than this!  I will give her props for the extra long necklace, I am fond of it.

Brittany's dress does nothing for me, it's just meh.  Other than the plunging neckline, it does nothing to flatter her figure.  And I hate the sleeves, that tight at the wrists (or ankles) but billowy everywhere else look will never win me over.  Unless you're dressing up as Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie for Halloween.

When I first saw the top half of Rachel's outfit I hated it.  I thought, just another little kid dress with a terrible collar.  But then I saw the whole thing and I hated it just a little less.  Only because I really love the red and black plaid skirt.  If the top half were just a simple white shirt I would love this dress.

This kind of reminds me of the night sky, but I'm really loving the mauve colored tights.

It doesn't exactly clash, but this bright pink cardigan doesn't exactly match her plaid dress either.  Though I'm not really sure what color would because I don't think white or black would work.  Oh well, from staring at it for so long it's actually grown on me and I love the dress.  It fits her splendidly.

I absolutely love this color combo on Rachel.  And I love the front ribbed design on her dress.  I think she looks super cute. And the white knee highs that she's wearing with it don't make me want to barf!

From certain angles I can stomach this shirt.  I'm not normally a fan of the oversized butterfly sleeves, but I don't hate them here.  I think what throws me off is the pattern and the ugly, misplaced lace cascading down the front.  It looks like it came from an antique table cloth.

Side view = 2011                                              Front view = 1890s

I'm glad the other girls can still find something to smile and sing about while wearing these outfits.

Does every shirt or dress that Tina owns have that extra large white collar on it?  Though, I will admit this dress is by far, one of her better ones.  Which is sad.  Mercedes' outfit is pretty toned down for her, and I'm liking the fedora, she looks cute (well until she spits out her food!).

Sing it girl.  I like the colors and the design is pretty fun.  Let's just pretend that she doesn't have pastel blue jeans on OK?

Oh my gosh STOP!  Tina is wearing white!  And I don't think it has a collar!  Unless it does and we just can't see it because it blends into the dress.  Wow, I hate the dress, but still.  Maybe we're moving in the right direction here.

Rachel's little jumper is taking us back to her kindergartner days, but she still manages to look cute.

This is such an awesomely great outfit.  Emma seriously always knows how to look so put together.  I love the color combo, and the pattern on her skirt is gorgeous.  And her bubble necklace is the perfect accessory, I love it.  This is a super swoon worthy outfit

I'm a little less enthusiastic about this outfit.  I think the weird daisy-like medallion in the front is ruining it for me.

Well if anyone's going to pull off dressing like David Bowie, it's Sue.  Actually only David Bowie could pull off David Bowie, but Sue actually does it fairly well.  Can't say that I love the look, but hey, who wouldn't want an excuse to wear bright blue and pink face paint?

Thinking the barista was on to her, Sue changes into an Ann Coulter disguise.  It's nice to see Sue in something other than her track suits, but I can confirm that I most definitely like her better with short hair.  But that is a very nice houndstooth jacket, even if it has shoulder pads.

Terri may be a little crazy, but who cares when she's wearing this awesome trench.  And I love her purse.

Born This Way - Part 3 of 4 - Girls

The girls of Glee hit some highs and lows on the fashion front this week. These outfits were cute:

But why so glum, girls? Shouldn’t Brittany’s hat or Santana’s smokin’ jacket put a smile on your faces?

And here’s Rachel, looking just as down:

Rachel. You’re wearing a miniskirt, knee socks and penny loafers. This is your go-to teenage toddler outfit. So what if you have a broken nose and you’re feeling so damn unpretty? Your outfit is super-cute, and that’s what really matters! (That is the lesson Lady Gaga taught us all, right?). And look, Brittany’s wearing my favourite floppy red hat - another reason to smile!

Speaking of Brittany, she really brought it this week. I think this outfit was my favourite:

It takes a smashing body like Brittany’s to pull off high-waisted white pants, no? I love the suspenders and polka-dot shirt. And man, can this girl rock a hat.

Now she has a black version of my favourite hat.

I must get one of those!

Now, I’m usually not a fan of fur vests, but Brittany makes this one look adorable:

Look, everyone is smiling! Maybe it’s because Artie is finally wearing a tolerable sweater vest. I really love Quinn’s striped dress. All kinds of adorable.

Unfortunately, she probably ruined it with fugly ankle boots, which lately she’s insisted on wearing with EVERYTHING.

That skirt is gorgeous, and the whole outfit is nicely put together - until you see her feet, which are inexplicably outfitted in hiking boots and tube socks. Why? Why is this Quinn’s favourite way to accessorize a pretty floral dress? She looks great when you can’t see her feet.

I love the neckline on that dress. And she looks great in this fedora and floral scarf:

When she sang with Rachel, Quinn looked beautiful again - but I bet she still had awful footwear on. Can someone introduce this girl to a nice wedge? Or at least a better style of boot?

Rachel had some nice moments this week, despite her busted up nose. I loved the dress/cardigan combo she wore to sing with Quinn - even if it was sort of reminiscent of Quinn’s own style. Rachel, I don’t mind if you copy Quinn’s nose as long as you don’t trade in your penny loafers for ankle boots. Mmmkay?

At her Barbravention, Rachel wore a classic look - a cute top and skirt paired with tights and flats.

Now, someone who doesn’t have quite as consistent of a style is Santana. Take, for example, this look:

A fur vest AND hat? What would possess someone to wear this? Obviously she’s not chilly, because she’s not wearing any sleeves. She looks like a really angry animal.

Her ensemble for her "date" with Karofsky was not much better.

Look, Santana. I’m totes on board with the lesbian thing. I encourage you to rock it because, like Brittany, I think you’re awesome. But if you insist on staying in the closet for now, fringed leather vests cannot be your friend. Save them for junior college and stick to wearing things like this:

The animal print top, the hot pink skirt, the amazing tuxedo jacket - I love everything about this outfit. It screams "Look at me, I’m way hotter than you!". Yet, despite my love for this look, I still think this one is Santana’s best yet:

The jacket is kind of cute, but we’ve seen Mercedes rock this look a million times before. It’s time for her to expand her horizons a little. Unfortunately, there is a worse offender.

Lauren Zizes.

Mixing plaid and stripes? A T-shirt with a skull on it? Come on, girl. We can do better.

This is a little better, but not by much.

This last outfit might be the least horrendous.

I like what she’s done with her hair here, and the lipstick is nice. But stripes and a floral pattern on one top? How about just flowers next time? If that top was plain black with the flowers, I think I’d be able to handle it.

The worst fashion offenders from the whole hour and a half long episode, though, were these girls.

Who are these girls? Where did they come from? Have we seen them on Glee before? Why didn’t I notice them? Why are they dressed the same? So. Many. Questions. For realsies, though, they’re weird. You’re supposed to stop coordinating outfits with your BFFs when you hit the double digits, not well into high school. And who exactly are they emulating? Not Quinn. Not Santana. Is someone from Big Love running for prom queen? Why are they dressed like sister wives?

If this keeps up, Emma Pillsbury might need to stage a fashion intervention at McKinley High.
