Tis Pity - Part 1 of 2 - Fancy, Fancy

The best part of 90210 is that each and every character has got their own 'thang goin on...which keeps me forever and ever interested. Naomi thinks she going to take her mind off her broken engagement by planning a new client's event but ::gasp:: the event is actually a wedding. Annie and Holier Than Thou Caleb continue their close-to-platonic relationship even though Annie's "loins are frustrated." Silver is worried about cancer and then about being pregnant. Then there's Ivy tucked away in an insane asylum until her rule-breaking boyfriend breaks her out...imagine that?

Of course Naomi has to wear high-waisted pants at some point during the episode. And you're surprised that she's oh-so-sophisticated. But then BAM! Her ENTIRE back is a net. Just a few criss-crosses to keep the back of that shirt together. It takes a brave girl to wear that during the middle of the day.

Once again Naomi pulls off what most normal people can't: the shorts suit. But where exactly does she think she is? Girlfriend is inside her home yet wearing the floppiest, most sun-protecting hat one can find.

Is this not the coolest, prettiest, most artsy shot you've ever seen on a primetime teen soap? I'm literally obsessed. The inky blue of the pool contrasts so nicely with the fluffy white of Naomi's wedding dress.

But then you see her face and the drained wine glass and you realize she's really, really sad...

But then she gets over herself and cranks it up with this emerald green one-should number and fierce pony. I bet she works that slit in her dress as well as Angelina...

This girl...Madison, right? I keep calling her that and then realize I wasn't 100% sure if that was her name. If not, Madison should be her name. But that's not important. She's just the perfect little socialite. Her clothes may be slightly too proper and WASPy for my taste but it definitely seems like she will be adding her dose of dramz to the last few eps of the season.

Very recently, Annie has stepped it up in the wardrobe department, employing a spectacular range of classic yet trendy pieces. Take one: she has on a very trendy hi-lo skirt (which I have a severe cause of obsession with). Pairing it with a simple black, button-up top.

Maybe her wardrobe is becoming too consistent? Upon first glance I thought this was the same outfit as above, but then realized this shirt has some sleeves and the skirt's color is more mustard-y yellow. I'm a true believer in when "something works, you work it" but this is a little too much.

Then all is forgiven in this completely amazeballs dress. She's got the hi-lo thing going, cut-outs, lace-up the back and yet it doesn't even look trashy. That's a serious feat and I seriously want this dress. Like now.

Adriana wears yet another cute little sundress but countrifies it with a big ol' belt buckle. It's a solid 'meh'.

For Liam's movie premiere, she takes the country out of her dress...OR is she putting more country in? I'm not a huge country fan so I'm not sure if this is something Carrie Underwood would wear or not. I'm thinking not, because there's not enough sparkle.

This was a jumpsuit. Yes, as in pants connected to the top. Silver can rock jumpsuits like nobody's business and luckily she's got the small boobs to pull off the low-cut front...and back.

As for our movie star, doesn't Liam look so dapper in his blue suit? It's blue! Who knew he had a little fashionista in him?

Tis Pity - Part 2 of 2 - Actually Normal...

Now for the times when the characters on this show actually wear normal clothes. Sort of.

Who else can only see this Judd character as Robbie Ray from Hannah Montana...or just Billy Ray, I suppose?? I just keep waiting for Hannah (or Miley) to pop out of the wings and scream at him for wearing that embarrassing leather-ish jacket.

There must have been a sale on plaid flannel at the local Plaid & Flannel boutique. Basically Liam and Austin have the same shirt on but in different colors. And their hair styles are beginning to eerily resemble each other. Are we in for a long-lost-brother-adoption plotline? As long as these guys take their shirts off, I'm good with that.

Speaking of man candy, Caleb is such a cutie. And even more of a cutie when he wears a button-down that has such great detail. He's just adorable--I don't know what more to say ::sigh::

MAX! Raise your hand if you saw this one coming. That chick he's engaged to never said his name so you had to know it was someone Naomi knew. And if you didn't pick up that--you must be new to the show, so I'll forgive you just this once.

Navid was actually stepping up the style quotient as well this week with this color-blocked cardi and rust-colored tee. He must not have known about the flannel sale.

Ade can usually pick out a dress that always flatters but this one...not so great. Probably not the worst thing she's ever worn but the flattery is just not there. Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are always so glitterly. If Adriana is trying to be country, she should try that!

I have never, ever seen Silver look so utterly casual. Striped sweater, lighter-wash jeans. She must have been really nervous about that mammogram/pregnancy test. However, nice to know that girls in Beverly Hills dress like I sometimes do in the midwest.

For being in an insane asylum the psych ward, Ivy's hair has never looked better. Seriously look at those perfect waves and that bounce!

Now we know - staying out of the salt water does amazing things for your hair.
