A few weeks ago, I was invited by Mastercard and Neiman Marcus to play in their dressing rooms for an afternoon. “Pick any style you like! Are you looking for evening gowns, day dresses, casual wear?…”

Please. I am looking to dress like TV characters. You know, just like normal people.

But no, really. If people didn’t take inspiration from our favorite small screen stars, then sites like YKYLF wouldn’t exist. So I put together four looks I could picture some of our favorite ladies wearing. What do you think of these choices?

Lily Rhodes van der Woodsen Bass Humphrey Bass never met a blingy dress she couldn’t wear the hell out of. We’ll miss TV’s most  negligent stylish mom when Gossip Girl ends in December.

Red: Marchesa Notte Strapless Silk Crepe Dress

Blue: Catherine Deane Silk Pleated Gown

This collection was meant for Jess of New Girl, but it could easily work for Emma on Glee, too. We all know Miss Pillsbury loves her some Kate Spade, right?

Black/Blue dress: Robert Rodriguez Fitted Contrast Dress (in B&W)

Green cardi & dress: kate spade eliza bead-collar cardigan and kate spade willa dot-print silk dress

Mindy of The Mindy Project is fast becoming my pretend BFF. She’s sassy! She’s colorful! She’s a little dorky! Who doesn’t want a little Mindy in her life? Can’t you see her hitting the club (again) or going out on an ill-fated date in either of these two looks?

Dress & Jacket: Madison Marcus Wrap Dress (in green), T Bags Sequined Jacket (similar)
Pants & Jacket: Helmut Lang Pixel Suiting Blazer, Renzo and Kai Beaded Tank, Kelly Wearstler Skinny Pants

Our favorite Revenging Roomie, Emily, has a penchant for classics with a twist. While I doubt she’d wear these lace pants to the Grayson Manor, the swing coat is perfect for those times when you unexpectedly winter in the Hamptons.

Casual: Robert Rodriguez Fit-and-Flare Coat, Robert Rodriguez Slim Lace Capri Pants, Robert Rodriguez blouse (sorry, no link. It has seemingly vanished from the internet.)

Dressy: RED Valentino Metallic Cardigan & Knit Dress

This day of fun and frivolity was sponsored by MasterCard Priceless Chicago, who in no way/shape/form influences our opinions here at YKYLF. We can possibly be bought with doughnuts and champagne, however.
