Sutton continues to wrong every right Emma has made, but Sutton and Emma switch places again, so that Emma can pass Sutton’s midterms (and get access to her closet). Laurel and Mads take a page from real!Sutton, with Laurel seeing Justin behind her parents’ backs and Mads using Sutton as a cover to go on a date with Ryan. While Emma runs around as Angel!Sutton (or so Ted calls her), Sutton and Ethan discover Derek’s involvement with Sutton’s accident. All of which culminates in Derek being murdered, Ethan being suspected, and Dan being a good brother and instructing Ethan to leave town. Thanks to a broken heel, Ethan and real!Sutton end up leaving town, while Thayer and Emma are left behind. Oh, and Dan Humphrey guest stars, and Rebecca also tries on engagement rings. Let’s hope she’ll be a good step-mom and feed Mads a burger.
You didn’t think I was serious about Dan Humphrey… but look! Squint, and tilt your head a little to the left, and it’s Season 2 Dan.
This is a little more Season 3 Dan with S1 Dan hair, but the same idea.
Justin’s affinity for polo shirts is beginning to bore me. Which is why I’m thinking Baz has perfect timing…
Okay, so maybe he wears equally boring outfits and Dan Humphrey vests. But he plays the guitar! He’s got potential.
Remember last episode when it was Chambray Day? Apparently that’s stretched into Chambray Week.
But enough about the boys. If there’s one thing Mercer women do well, it’s accessorizing. Kristin’s sartorial choices may be mind-numbingly boring, but they fit her character – and her delicate gold necklaces fit her outfits.
I’m less sure of Rebecca’s style. I see this leopard printed shirt and want to wash my eyes with acid.
But then she pairs a simple periwinkle blue top with a gold cuff and I think there’s hope.
And then she goes all Kate Spade-esque on us and pairs a jewelled broach with a wool cape – gorgeous.
Finally, she dons a tweed vest that definitely makes her Char’s aunt.
Rebecca, you just go right on and keep us guessing, you mischievious minx, you!
