Happy New Year! While you’re popping champagne, we’re slaving away on the second-to-last task in the Jane By Design Style Challenge! We’d feel much better about things if you’d visit the Jane By Design Facebook page and say that You Know You Love Fashion sent you! Seriously, we get judged on that…

The task: Right, so we should first tell you that there was a bag of pretzels in the big trunk that ABC Family sent to us. For serious. Anywho, Friday’s email said: “Find the bag of pretzels in your trunk.  Get inspired and create something that will amaze me.  Ask your readers to share ways in which they were inspired to make fashion out of unexpected items on the Jane By Design Facebook page and mention the name of your blog.”

The result: Have you ever heard of something called furoshiki? You have now. It’s the Japanese art of tying fabric into all sorts of useful carrying bags. Problem is, most furoshiki bags require you to untie the entire thing if you wish to dig something out of the bag. Inspired by the twist of a pretzel, I came up with a furoshiki bag that’s totally practical for a night out.
