Welcome back to the Girl Crush Screening Room! Both shows in this Screening Room, 2 Broke Girls and New Girl, dealt with the aftermath of a breakup this week. Only New Girl did it with a much cuter wardrobe, and a little more running mascara. Maybe Jess’s model friend can introduce her to the waterproof kind.

This week’s episodes:
2 Broke Girls
– “And the Break-Up Scene”
New Girl
– “Kryptonite”

I’ll admit, I have a much bigger girl crush on Zooey Deschanel than I do on Kat Dennings. And while they’re both great, so far the wardrobe on New Girl is kicking that of 2 Broke Girls’ butt. I mean, most of the time they’re in uniforms. And Max’s doesn’t even fit right! Not to mention poor Caroline is so destitute that she has to wear the same white outfit again and again.

Even when she got “mud” all over it, she just tagged along to Max’s babysitting gig so she could clean it. Take some of that money and buy yourself a pair of jeans, girl! (But nice scarf, Max.)

At least Caroline managed to grab a cute pair of PJs before being shunned from her wealthy world forever. I mean, what does Max have going on here? How old and large is that Run DMC T-shirt?

Say what you want about their outfits, but these girls sure do love to pile on the jewelry. I think between them there must be about 15 pieces.

Maybe in an upcoming episode they’ll break into Caroline’s old penthouse and grab some more clothes? Or at the very least, some shoes. There’s no way they can keep waitressing in those heels they always wear.

Now on the other hand, Jess on New Girl totally knows how to dress appropriately for work. Check out this cute dress!

I wish we’d gotten a better look because I love that pattern.

She also wore an adorable red dress to try and get her stuff back from her boyfriend. Now THAT guy should be putting his entire paycheck in the douchebag jar.

It’s a good thing Jess got her stuff back though, because she definitely can’t raid Schmidt’s “lost and found” from past hookups. A pink velour hoodie and a cheerleader skirt? Not cute.

But what about Jess’s friends? Bestie Cece is a model, so her look is pretty sexy. I wouldn’t wear this dress during the day, but hey, she’s rocking it.

The guys aren’t quite as fashionable. Schmidt is the best dressed one, if you ignore the fact that he wore a thumb ring for most of the episode. I mean, this suit is nice.

While it was very sweet of the guys to stand up for Jess against her douchey ex-boyfriend, I think perhaps they should have let him keep the whimsical hats. No one needs these.

Except maybe the one Jess had on. That might be cute.

Anyway, want to know what the most adorable (or “adorkable”) thing from the whole episode was? The opening credits! It’s a total throwback to 70s sitcoms, and Jess is wearing a really cute red dress.

Great, right? And now I have the theme song stuck in my head. It’s that catchy. YouTube it at your own risk.

VOTE! Should we keep crushing on these shows?
